I love this little book. I want to buy copies for everyone I know now. Unfortunately, I also have Christmas bills and insurance and propane and lots of other things to pay for this month. But if I could I would buy copies for everyone.
From Thanks:
"A lot of us religious types go around saying thank you to God when we find a good parking space, or locate the house keys or the wandering phone, or finally get a good night's sleep. And while that may be annoying to the people around us, it's important because if we are lucky, gratitude becomes a habit."
"Gratitude begins in our hearts and then dovetails into behavior. It almost always makes you willing to be of service, which is where the joy resides."
From Wow:
"Poetry is the official palace language of Wow."
And from Amen (this is actually a quote from C.S. Lewis that Anne has in her book because she knows a good thing when she reads it):
"I pray because I can't help myself. I pray because I'm helpless. I pray because the need flows out of me all the time, waking and sleeping. It doesn't change God. It changes me."

Thanks for reminding me of the simple things that make such a huge difference. Life is alchemy--practice the process, perfect it, and once it becomes a part of you, wonderful happens.
