Today was fun. I spent too much money, but hey, it was a great day. The only bad thing about the day was that Little G played in a local basketball tournament, and we didn't get to see her play. She apparently did a great job and scored four (or more) points (she couldn't remember exactly). They won both games. I can't wait until she gets home to tell us about it.
The rest of us went to San Antonio because the high school boys' team got to play at AT&T Center on the Spurs floor. It was pretty cool. We lost, but I think the guys had a good time. After the game, Big G, L, and I went to Marti's and looked around at all the things we would love, but can't afford to buy. Then we went across the street to Penner's which turned out to be a truly lovely store with fantastic service, the kind you just don't find much any more. We got Big G and L both two long-sleeved guayaberas. They look great. L even had to wear one of his out of the store (who else lets you do that these days?). And before we left, they pressed all the shirts for us! I sort of went a little nuts at Coldwater Creek. So we should all be well-dressed for a while.
We asked the guy at Penner's where we should go to eat Mexican food and he recommended Rosario's. Holy cow, it was good. L had Enchiladas Verdes and Big G and I had Enchiladas Mexicanas. Delicious. I think we need to go back in a few months.
On the way back home, we went down some back roads and we passed a house that was totally lit up with Christmas lights, arches over the driveway, lights in the trees, lights on the house, pretty much just everywhere in the yard. The house next door had just a few lights. But their lights spelled out the word DITTO and had an arrow pointing to the first. Made L and me laugh out loud.
Now, I'm going to plant my behind on the couch and knit until bedtime. And watch Elf because it seems like a good holiday-ish thing to do.
